THE Northern Echo reported that rare video tapes are starting to bring good prices (Echo, Apr 27) as, apparently, people are finding that the longevity of DVDs is not as good as previously thought.

There has been an increase in sales of video players because most people threw their old ones out.

I recently transferred my videos to DVD and disposed of the old tapes and now wonder if I did the right thing.

On Tuesday The Northern Echo reported that thousands of video tapes have been dumped in a remote field (Echo, Apr 30).

I think this could be an action that someone may eventually regret.
