I AM hoping that some of your readers might be able to help me with research I am undertaking relating to the famous Dambuster raid of May 1943.

One of the men who flew, and sadly died that night, was Sergeant Ronald Marsden from Redcar.

Ron was one of five children, having two older brothers Arthur and Fred, a younger sister Gladys and a younger brother Herbert. He was born in 1920 and attended the Richard Hind Central School, in Stockton, before joining the RAF as an apprentice in 1935.

I know that Herbert died in 2005 in Redcar, but I would appreciate it if any of your readers can give me further information or especially if they can put me in touch with any surviving relatives.
