CHARLIE KAY is right to reject the claim by the Chancellor of the Exchequer that the British economy is healing (HAS, Dec 8).
Given a fair wind it may not recover until 2018.
The Conservative Party will have a difficult task convincing the voters that it is again the party of competence when the General Election takes place in 2015.
The Government might earn applause if it is thought to be concentrating its measures against the workshy.
But if it brings more distress to families and to individuals who are striving to do their best the view will return of the Conservative Party being the nasty party G Bulmer, Billingham.
