YOU would have thought that the Coast team would have pretty much exhausted all the tales there are to tell about our nation’s shoreline; that, after one or two circumnavigations, they would have seen, and reported upon, all there is to see. But they’re back for an eighth series and, as the latest run begins, the team explores how the various islands surrounding the mainland have been subject to a variety of invasions through the ages.
Nick Crane heads to the Channel Islands to learn about the German occupation of Guernsey during the Second World War, while Tessa Dunlop visits Norfolk to hear of a littleknown Zeppelin bombing campaign on Britain during the First World War.
