ONE way that Comic Relief aims to celebrate its 25th anniversary is with a lavish banquet at London’s Royal Albert Hall, which will, of course, generate more cash for the cause.
But what kind of food would be suitable at such a bash? That’s where the latest series of The Great British Menu comes in.
Top chefs from around the country compete for the right to prepare various courses.
Kicking off the contest are culinary kings from London and the South-East.
Tom Aikens is a veteran of this series, so he will start as favourite against newcomers Matt Gillan and Adam Simmonds when they go head-to-head in a challenge involving starters.
At the end of the week they’ll have to cook for judges Prue Leith, Oliver Peyton, Matthew Fort and Arabella Weir.
