THE Military Awards – nicknamed the Millies – have been taking place since 2008 when that first ceremony was presented by Tess Daly and was broadcast on Sky1. A year later, Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden took over hosting duties when it moved to ITV1.

And they’re back to take charge of proceedings for the fourth time tonight in A Night Of Heroes – The Military Awards.

Once again, London’s Imperial War Museum is the venue.

“A Night of Heroes allows us to pay our respects publicly to some of the courageous and remarkable service personnel who put duty first,” says Schofield. “I feel extremely privileged to be able to play a part in doing that.”

Holden says she’s honoured to be back presenting it for its fifth year. “The courage of the men and women we meet is awe-inspiring and it’s vital we never forget the important contribution they make for us all,” she says.

Among the famous faces expected to join them on stage are broadcasters Jeremy Clarkson and Myleene Klass, footballer Frank Lampard, cyclist Mark Cavendish and SAS operative-turnedbest- selling author Andy McNab. Additionally, they are part of the judging panel, which also includes senior military personnel.

Among the categories being awarded on the night are Overcoming Adversity, Most Outstanding Sailor or Marine, Soldier and Airman, Life Saver and True Grit.
