I HAVE just returned from the USA and was wondering why on earth does an airline like BA insist on serving such disgusting food to its paying passengers.

During my flight from Chicago to Heathrow earlier this week, for breakfast we were given something that I’m sure was some kind of failed McDonalds experimental dish.

It was supposed to be a bagel with egg, sausage and something resembling cheese - it was disgusting and virtually inedible, I actually heard one passenger when told what it was say “Oh lovely” and the flight attendant replied with “Well I wouldn’t build your hopes up!”

I’m not kidding!

You couldn’t bite through it and yes I do have my own teeth.

As we landed, the pilot announced: “I hope you enjoyed your flight”, well no I didn’t, I don’t like flying at the best of times but it’s a necessary evil, then when you looked at the ingredients holy moly it read like a recipe for some kind of witches brew.

All the stuff we are told not eat, E this E that, emulsifiers honestly, there must have been 40 dodgy ingredients, it would have been far healthier smoking 20 woodbines and this is our flagship airline.

I fly regularly with KLM and Emirates and sadly they both knock British Airways into a cocked hat and even their food is mediocre.

I really do feel as if we were guinea pigs who on earth tried this “food” beforehand I think they were developed by some form of AI.

There is no need for it, okay you don’t expect Michelin star but to get something that had the consistency and taste of a Michelin tyre doesn’t make for an enjoyable experience, yuk!
