YOUNG people are being urged to sign up for a life-changing experience.

Cleveland Fire Brigade has been chosen as an official partner of the National Citizen Service (NCS) to work with 60 teenagers aged between 16 and 17.

Sue Knott, commissioned services manager for Cleveland Fire Brigade, said: “The aim of this course is to give young people a life changing experience and equip them with new skills in confidence and leadership which will not only benefit them but their local community.”

The course will particularly benefit those interested in volunteering and community action or those looking to boost their CV for a university place.

The first course starts on September 19 and anyone wanting to sign for that one or future courses can call 01429-874070 or email sknott@clevelandfire.gov.uk
