NORTHERN Rail has reminded customers that services will start to wind down from 6pm on Christmas Eve.
The train operator said there would be only a small number of services running after 9pm, while there will be none at all on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
A normal service will resume on December 27, except for a few very early morning services.
New Year’s Eve will again see services again winding down and services will start a little later on New Year’s Day.
There will be no trains operating at all on New Year’s Day on the Bishop Auckland – Darlington – Middlesbrough – Saltburn route and also from Middlesbrough to Whitby.
Normal services will resume on Monday January 2.
Customers are advised to check northernrailway.co.uk or nationalrail.co.uk for the latest times and services.
