A previously discontinued Diet Coke flavour is making a permanent return to UK stores.
Coca-Cola is known worldwide for its various drinks, including Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, and the original Coca-Cola, which comes in the iconic red can.
Coke also comes in various flavours like vanilla, cherry, and lime.
However, not all Coca-Cola soft drinks hang around forever.
Discontinued UK chocolates and sweets
Most recently, the soft drink giant was forced to apologise after it discontinued Coca-Cola Cherry Vanilla and Diet Coke with Splenda.
The decision, the company said, came as a result of changing "consumer taste preferences".
Other drinks discontinued by Coca-Cola over the years include:
- Caffeine-free Coca-Cola
- Coca-Cola Black Cherry Vanilla
- Coke II or New Coke
Discontinued Diet Coke flavour makes permanent return to the UK
Diet Cherry Coke, which first launched in the 80s, was also discontinued back in 2018.
The "cult favourite" flavour returned to Tesco for a limited time in October last year much to the delight of shoppers.
One person, posting on X (formerly Twitter), said: "I found cherry Diet Coke before work this afternoon and I am so buzzed bc I haven’t seen it in years."
Another added: "Diet cherry coke is soooooo good."
While a third person posted: "Cherry diet coke has genuinely been a highlight of 2025 for me."

Now, it is back permanently, available now at major retailers across the country.
The returning Diet Coke Cherry is available in:
- 300ml cans
- 500ml bottles
- 2L bottles
- 8x 330ml can multipacks
- 24x 330ml can multipacks

The popular Diet Coke flavour has already been spotted in the UK by shoppers, including in major supermarkets like Sainsbury's.
