This winter, I've rarely been apart from my heated throw - when I'm working or relaxing at home, it keeps me toasty warm for 2p an hour. But, on rare occasions where I really must leave the house, I've found a game changing alternative, and it's half price at the moment.

Lakeland's heated scarf is brilliant for a brisk dog walk or to brave the school run. This winter has carried me through shopping trips, school carol concerts, church services and drinks with friends - outdoor pub meet-ups were much more comfortable thanks to my toasty scarf.

I like mine so much I bought one for my mum for Christmas, and several of my friends have also bought them after spotting mine.

But now it's down from £29.99 to £14.99 - less than half price - and there's a 'last chance to buy' tag that makes me think anyone who wants one needs to snap it up quickly.

How does a heated scarf stay warm?

It uses a USB-C connector, compatible with most power banks (not included, although Lakeland does sell one). Just plug in your power bank to charge it up, and then once it's fully charged, drop it into the little zip compartment in the heated scarf, and you're good to go.

It has three heat settings, so whether I need a gentle warmth or a toasty embrace, I can adjust the settings to find the perfect level of cosiness.

For full disclosure, mine gets a bit too hot at the back if I wear it against bare skin, so I always have a soft scarf or a snood underneath.

It can also leave my hair a bit tangled, but that's more an issue with my hair length and texture than the scarf itself.

It's also worth noting that if you wear a pacemaker, you should speak to a medical professional or your pacemaker provider to ensure this product is compatible with your device.

But, all that aside, it's been a game-changer for me, and as it's now half price, down from £29.99 to £14.99. I suspect they won't restock until next autumn, so grab one now and stay cosy through the coldest January and February days.
