The top ten ugliest dog breeds in the world have been revealed, according to new research.

We all think our furry friends are adorable but sometimes ( sadly) the rest of the world doesn't agree.

The new ranking combines analysis using the golden ratio of key facial features and proportions as well as social media research.

The team at Puppies.co.uk have studied thousands of posts on Reddit and on X (formerly Twitter) dating from 2018 onwards containing keywords or emojis synonymous with disgust.

The researchers then ranked the dog breeds based on an index score out of 5.

The breed with the highest score was crowned the most unfortunate-looking

What do you think of the top three? Do you think they got them right?

Other breeds that made the top 10 include another breed of large sighthound - the Irish Wolfhound as well as the English Bulldog and a breed named after the Belgian capital - the Brussels Griffon.
