MULTIMILLION pound plans to extend an industrial estate will be available for public scrutiny at a special consultation event in April.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council secured £2.8 million towards the expansion of Skippers Lane.

Members of the business community in the area are invited to have their say tomorrow between 8.30am and 10.30am, at Cargo Fleet Business Centre, Middlesbrough Road, South Bank.

A second event for residents will take place at the Golden Boy Green Community Centre, Southbank, between noon and 3pm, to view the plans and have their say on the project.

Ian Hopley, Senior Project Manager for Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, said: “Skippers Lane Industrial Estate is an incredibly important business asset for the borough. It’s home to around 120 businesses which employ hundreds of local people and contributes millions to the regional economy.

“We need to make sure the estate is suitable to businesses of all sizes."
