BIG-HEARTED teens were thanked by care home residents on World Kindness Day.
Last Tuesday, young graduates from the Tees Valley National Citizenship Service enjoyed a visit to Thornaby's Mandale House care home.
Their visit followed the completion of a summer project which saw the group raise funds and revamp the home's garden.
Elderly residents expressed their gratitude and invited the teenagers to join them in celebrating Irene Fleming's 90th birthday party.
Ms Fleming said: "I have never had so many birthday wishes and I loved seeing the youngsters."
Jacqueline Ball, the home's administrator, said: “We all wanted to use the occasion to thank them personally for all their hard work in the summer.
“The NCS graduates were great when they visited as well, handing out birthday cake to all residents and then making tea for everyone.
“They were very involved and chatty and brought a kind, positive energy to our early evening. All residents enjoyed their kindness."
