WITNESSES are being sought after a man was stabbed near a school in Thornaby last month.

The 25-year-old victim suffered a leg wound in the incident in Baysdale Road, opposite St Patrick's secondary school at about 1.10pm on Friday, January 13.

Police are keen to speak to a woman who was walking a dog on the field opposite the school at the time of the incident.

She may have seen what happened and could have information that could help the inquiry.

Three men were arrested in relation to the incident. A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and bailed pending further inquiries.

A 22-year-old man was charged with affray and a 29year-old man, also charged with affray, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains on bail pending further inquiries relating to the offence.
