YOUNGSTERS in Teesside are being given the chance to give two police horses official names.
Cleveland Police horses Alf and Reg go by their stable names, but they need official names for operational duties and special events.
Entrants must be 16 or under and entries must be submitted through facebook.com/clevelandpolice, twitter.com/clevelandpolice or via cleveland.police.uk The winners will be given a shopping voucher and will be treated to a visit to the stables, at Ormesby Hall, to meet the seven horses in the mounted section.
Inspector Bev Gill, head of the dog section, mounted section and automatic number plate recognition team, said: "The names will be the horses' formal stable and working names, so please give some thought to the reason behind your chosen name."
Closing date for entries is Wednesday, August 31.
