POLICE are appealing for information following a collision on the A19 which left two teenagers with minor injuries.

A Peugeot 206 was travelling northbound near Elwick, Hartlepool, at around 12.20pm on Monday, when it collided with a lamp-post before the vehicle left the road and came to rest in a field.

The 18-year-old female driver suffered lacerations to the back of her head and right ear as well as whiplash. She was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees.

A 19-year-old female passenger fractured three knuckles on her right hand and was taken to the same hospital. Both people were treated and then discharged.

A second passenger, a 20-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries including back pain.
