PEOPLE are being asked to come forward and help Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council capture memories of the former Palace Theatre on Redcar seafront.
The theatre is to be transformed into a £5m creative 'Hub' providing quality space for the creative industry.
But before the changes are made, the council want to preserve the memories of the old theatre.
Councillor Mark Hannon, cabinet member for economic development, said: "Whatever your memory, whether it's playing bingo or dancing, we want to capture them."
People can share their memories by picking up a form from The Tourist Information Office, 24 High Street, Redcar, or getting in touch via Facebook.
Coun Hannon added: "The building will be transformed to provide an exciting new base for creative industries and help create employment opportunities and attract more visitors.
"I can't wait to celebrate the next stage of the life of the building when it opens as a creative 'Hub' next year."
The Redcar seafront improvement, new sea wall, 'The Hub' and vertical pier are a joint initiative by Redcar & Cleveland Council and the Environment Agency, with support from One North East, European Regional development Fund and Your Enterprise team.
