STUDENTS have been dreaming of a green Christmas as they unveil their window display in collaboration with a Middlesbrough boutique.

Unveiling their 2019 Christmas window display, Psyche, on Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, and Teesside University have worked together to place a focus on ecological values to encourage shoppers to think green this Christmas.

The Northern Echo:

With Christmas trees made from plastic bottles, mannequins with heads made from recycled materials and a sustainability focused poem, specially written by Abby Dennison for this campaign, the windows focus on the damage done by the fast fashion industry with the message “buy better, not more”.

The display is a partnership between Psyche's founder, Steve Cochrane, project leaders and fashion students Mark Naylor and Hannah Halliday, as well as visual graphics created by product design student Ed Taylor.

The Northern Echo:

Staff and students have spent the last six months collecting rubbish and waste for this year’s window display.

Miss Halliday, 21, a final year student, studying BA Hons Fashion Enterprise at Teesside University, said: "This is a very current theme and it highlights the issues which makes it scary to think what's to hold for us in the future"
