OWNERS of desirable cars are being warned to be extra vigilant after a spate of car thefts and 'two in one' burglaries across Middlesbrough.
'Two in one' incidents are when burglars break into homes, take car keys then steal vehicles parked in the driveway.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "Police are reminding vehicle owners to ensure their vehicles are safe and secure following a number of thefts across Middlesbrough.
"In September, Middlesbrough had three 'two in one' burglaries, where a property is broken into and their vehicle also stolen.
"Officers are advising vehicle owners to secure them in a garage if possible or keep car keys out of sight and in hard to reach places.
"As well as making sure all doors and windows are locked both in your home and your vehicle.
Anyone with any information of vehicle crime should contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
