PLANS for an estate in Middlesbrough which include proposals for 270 new sustainable homes are due to be presented in a consultation next week.

Landlord and housing developer Thirteen are inviting people to take part in the event, where plans for the development of Grove Hill will be presented.

There will also be the opportunity for residents to voice their own views and highlight any issues in the area. They will be given to chance to suggest any ideas for improvements.

Information will be used to inform subsequent planning applications.

The event will take place at the Evergreen Community Centre in Grove Hill from 1pm until 7pm.

Chris Smith, executive director of service delivery and development at Thirteen said: “The planned new homes are part of a wider regeneration in Grove Hill, and we want to get the views of people in the area to help with the development of the project.”

The new homes will include two-bedroom bungalows and two, three and four-bedroom houses. There will also be communal areas and a community hub.

Mr Smith added: “The consultation is a great opportunity to involve locals, so we urge as many residents and local organisations as possible to come along.”

Investigations on the development site to the north of Keith Road are taking place during the summer. The target date for the start of work is April 2020.
