AN autism charity's annual open day gives people a rare opportunity to visit the Norton farm site to enjoy a whole host of fun family activities.

The Daisy Chain, based at Calf Fallow Farm, only opens its gates to the public twice a year and the first time this year is Bank Holiday Monday, May 6 between noon and 4pm.

Families from the local area can visit the farm, pet the animals and enjoy entertainment such as bouncy castles, cake stalls, Yoga and Pilates, and drum performances.

New for this year is a Dog Show where cute canines will have the chance to scoop the titles of waggiest tail and speediest sausage eater, among others.

Neeraj Sharma, chief executive, said: “This is a very special day for the community. It is one of only two opportunities in the calendar year that we open our farm site to the public. We currently support over 2,300 families in the Tees Valley affected by autism and this is a great opportunity for the community to come and discover more about what we do as well as enjoying our facilities.”
