A CELEBRATION of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender life is set to take over Middlesbrough town centre when the Spectrum Community Pride event comes to town.
The day long event gets under way with a bright breakfast at the new Middlesbrough Community Fire Station in Park Road South from 9.30am to 11am on Friday, October 16, followed by an open discussion on LGBT life in the Tees Valley.
Middlesbrough Community Pride chairman and organiser Matthew Gray said: “Pride was a huge success over the last two years, with great support from the community and fantastic feedback.
“However it’s been a tough year and the committee reluctantly took the decision not to go ahead with it for 2015.
“Nevertheless with the fantastic support of Middlesbrough Council the Spectrum festival will deliver an extremely positive and lasting message that will hopefully inspire the future.”
Trans Awareness - A Time To Talk, takes place at Middlesbrough Town Hall, from 1pm to 2pm, when people will be on hand to discuss Trans issues. Spaces are limited, so anyone wishing to attend this event should email middlesbroughcommunitypride@gmail.com
Hart Gables in Centre North East in Albert Road will host a Crafts & Cake session from 3pm to 5pm.
And at 5pm artist Stuart Langley will unveil ‘Over’ in Centre Square, his latest multi-coloured light installation.
The events concludes with an adult themed Comedy Night at Tiny, 51-53 Albert Road. Entry is £2. Over 18s only.
