LOVERS of Shakespeare are in for a summer treat when two of the bard's most-loved plays come to Redcar's Kirkleatham Museum next month (July).
Musical versions of Much Ado About Nothing and Twelfth Night will have an added twist of modern music thanks to the high-octane efforts of theatre company Oddsocks.
Songs like It Must Be love, Get Ready to Rumble and Holding out for a Hero will give an alternative telling of the classic plays.
Councillor Carl Quartermain, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s cabinet member for jobs, skills and leisure said: “It is fantastic that these Shakespeare plays with a twist are heading to Kirkleatham Museum this summer.
“Families and children will be able to enjoy the musical performances which promise two nights of engaging fun and entertainment.”
Oddsocks’ Much Ado About Nothing is set to take the stage on Thursday, July 16, with its production of Twelfth Night the following evening. Both shows start at 7.30pm.
Both will be open air performances, so guests are encouraged to bring chairs, rugs and picnics, and to dress for the weather.
Tickets are £16 per adult and £8 per child. Call 01642-479500 to book.
