FOOTBALL players who want to develop their coaching skills can take part in a course in Teesside.

Hartlepool Council's Sport and Recreation service has teamed up with Durham County FA to stage an FA Level two course for players with some experience of coaching.

The course is aimed at both men and women over 16 and will take place at Grayfields Sports Pavilion in Jesmond Gardens, Hartlepool, on weekends from June 8-23, with six nine-hour sessions with practical experience and classroom based theory.

People wanting to take part in the course must have an FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football or an FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Adults. They must also have observed qualified and experienced coaches working with both adults and children.

They must also show that they hold the FA Emergency Aid Certificate and be able to provide evidence of attendance at an FA Safeguarding Children Workshop by the time they come to be assessed.

The course costs £250, although FA Charter Standard clubs who are affiliated to Durham County FA, can access it for just £150. Applications from FA Charter Standard clubs must be co-signed by the club secretary.

To apply for the course or to get further information contact the Durham County FA Development Team on 0191-387 2928 or e-mail development@durhamfa.com.
