WORK to replace a section of sewer pipe is to begin in Yarm next week.
Northumbrian Water is spending £200,000 to renew a 175-metre section of sewer on Worsall Road.
Peter Trees, the water company’s project manager, said: "The existing sewer is prone to leaking and this essential work, which will involve installing a new section of pipe between numbers 16 and 36 Worsall Road, will help to resolve this issue.
"It will be necessary to have a road closure in place between numbers 14 and 36 Worsall Road. We will ensure the diversion route is clearly sign-posted and I would like to assure residents and commuters that we will do our best to complete the work as quickly as we can.”
Construction traffic will need access to the areas where the work is being carried out, and to the utility’s site compound, which is to be located off Worsall Road.
Residents in the affected area will receive detailed information about the work in writing.
