REPRESENTATIVES from diverse communities are invited to join a new group.
The Independent Advisory Group, recently relaunched by Hartlepool police, offers a chance to discuss and debate community issues.
The police are looking for residents who represent groups including the black and minority ethnic population, the gay, lesbian and transgendered community, asylum seekers and refugees, the disabled, travellers, young people and the elderly, to get involved.
Meetings of the group will provide opportunities for residents to discuss topics including local policing operations and crime as well as difficulties faced within the community.
The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 18, from 5.30pm at The People’s Centre on Raby Road, in Hartlepool.
For more information, contact Inspector Mal Suggitt on non-emergency number 101.
