A DISTRICT is to launch extra kerbside recycling.
From early October, Ryedale District Council will begin collecting plastic bottles and cardboard from households.
The council will begin delivering extra recycling boxes one collection round at a time and by April next year all homes should have the extra collections.
There will be a new black box for recycling glass bottles and jars and a larger blue bag for paper and cardboard.
Cans and plastic bottles can be placed in existing green boxes and brown bins will still be used for garden waste.
Only plastic bottles can be recycled. Mixed plastics and plastic bags will not be collected, but bags can be recycled at supermarkets.
