THE county town of North Yorkshire has a new mayor.
Councillor Sally Anderson was unanimously elected to the post at the annual meeting of Northallerton Town Council in succession to Tony Hall, who has completed two years in office.
The new mayor has held the post before, in 2001/2002, and she pledged to provide stable leadership for the coming year.
She was previously the deputy mayor of the town and has been succeeded in that role by Coun Jane Harvey.
