A WOMAN killed after she was struck by a train at a level crossing has been named by police.
Yvonne Banks, of Strensall, near York, died after she was hit by a First TransPennine Express train on Wednesday, April 21.
The 55-year-old, who worked as an accounts administrator, was killed at the Cross Lane crossing at Flaxton, near Malton, at 1.05pm.
The train had been travelling to Scarborough from Liverpool Lime Street and the accident closed the line for several hours.
British Transport Police are investigating the matter and an inquest was opened and adjourned on Tuesday, April 27.
