A NEW drive to encourage people to visit Hambleton's market towns and ensure they keep safe has been launched.

The district council is putting up posters in Northallerton, Thirsk, Easingwold, Bedale, Stokesley and Great Ayton. They depict the hands, face, space messages associated with covid19 as well as urging people to play their part in the battle against the virus and what to do if they get symptoms.

The ‘Enjoy Hambleton Safely’ campaign was initially launched by the District Council at the end of lockdown, using cash from the European Regional Development Fund. Leader councillor Mark Robson said the aim is to encourage people to continue to visit. "We want businesses to know we haven’t forgotten about them we are working hard to support them during these difficult times. With the festive season we want shoppers to know Hambleton is a safe place to come." he added.
