A NEW shop promoting not only shopping but making local has been opened in Northallerton.
Mayor Councillor David Richardson did the honours for Boggle Hole whose shelves are filled with goods and crafts handmade in Yorkshire.
Boggle Hole, the new shop in Barkers Arcade is run by Andrew and Melanie Turner. The couple are backing Love Northallerton's Shop Local Campaign and stock a wide range of goods made in Yorkshire by crafters, artists and designers.
Melanie Turner said the shop has got off to a good start. "We’ve been really busy, and absolutely overwhelmed by the kind messages and support we have received from people who are so thrilled so see our shop in Northallerton."
Andrew Turner added: "Customers love the fact we offer so many original products under one roof. We sell the marvellous creations of more than 60 makers, who are really passionate about what they do. We have something to suit all tastes and budgets."
"Our range of goods includes homeware, jewellery, home fragrance, kidswear, skincare, greetings cards and artists prints.
"We’re really proud to champion Yorkshire and we have been very keen to support Love Northallerton’s Shop Local campaign because it is so important retail gets that crucial backing."
