MEMBERS of a junior football club have ditched their usual approach and adapted to the new rules of coronavirus football by keeping their distance and even kicking the ball into touch.

Now Bedale Under 7’s have shared their winning formula with the club’s 600 members by putting their latest edited highlights online.

The youngsters got together with coaches to make a team video of their loo roll challenge while paying tribute to the NHS, and they demonstrated that even without a ball they had some winning moves.

The gauntlet had been thrown down by the Bedale Bluebirds, U12 Girls team who produced the first toilet roll challenge video with the Under 7’s unable to resist having a go themselves.

The challenge sees individual players film themselves kicking a toilet roll and the footage is edited together to make it appear as if the team is passing it between themselves.

Coach Alan Barry said: “The video was so impressive when it was edited together. It was great to see the children all having a little bit of fun.

“The lockdown has been a nightmare for all of us, we all miss the football and getting together, so it’s been a huge boost to see the teams putting together these videos.

“And we’re hoping it won’t be too long before we can be back at the ground playing for real.”
