AN engineering firm has got back to business and is increasing its output following industry requirements.

Following government guidelines in March, Langver Engineering who design and manufacture ratchet tensioners for curtainsider trailers, took the decision to halt production at their Thirsk facility.

Having closely monitored developments, the organisation has now implemented measures to allow production to commence and ensure their products are available to support the transport industry.

Scott Taylor, joint managing director, said: “We have been impressed at how well the transport and logistics industry have responded to the crisis, adapting methods to ensure they are able to continue to deliver essential products. "Having reviewed our supply chain, we have taken the decision to resume production in order to keep up with demand and support the industry.”

Langver Engineering are industry leaders in the manufacture of curtainsider tensioners and employ 26 people at their facility in Thirsk.

Claire Matten, joint managing director, said the firm is closely following government advice and have returned with a skeleton staff of just eight members, whilst those who can work from home, continue to do so.
