MOTORISTS are being warned about upcoming road closures as essential resurfacing work starts in Richmondshire this weekend.

North Yorkshire County Council’s highways department is carrying out the schemes in Brompton-on-Swale and Catterick.

Starting on Saturday February 22 for two consecutive weekends, Bridge Road in Brompton-on-Swale will be closed from 7am to 7pm.

Access to businesses will be affected.

Catterick Road on the A6136 near the racecourse will be closed between 7am and 7pm from Monday, February 24, for one week.

Two-way traffic lights will be in place for a short time while work is ongoing to renew three gullies.

Evening closures will be in place on Scotton Road in Catterick from 6.30pm to 11pm starting on March 3, for one week.

To minimise disruption, there will be no work on Friday or over the weekend.
