NORTH Yorkshire police are continuing investigations into a fatal crash at Buttertubs near Hawes.
They were called to reports of a vehicle leaving the road at the Yorkshire Dales pass at 10.55am on Saturday, January 11. Emergency services were assisted at the scene by the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team but a local man in his 50s died in the crash.
Investigating officers have asked anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen the vehicle, a distinctive black Land Rover defender with a silver canopy and white roof to contact them.
Traffic Sergeant Mark Patterson said: “Members of the public who were travelling along that section of road on Saturday morning, may hold vital information which will help us to determine the circumstances around the incident.”
