AN ARTIST is looking forward to her first exhibition of work, to be held at The Station, Richmond.

‘Up to now’ by Vicky Tucker is an eclectic mix of paintings that mark where her artistic journey have taken her ‘up to now’.

Initially training as a textile designer, Vicky returned to her roots of drawing and painting, and has being working professionally since 2007 mostly on a private commission basis.

Vicky specialises in animal portraits and over the last 12 years has accrued a large customer base both nationally and internationally.

"She said: "The medium I prefer is acrylic paint although I'm equally happy to work in pencil, pastel and gouache."

A busy family life dictates that Vicky only works part-time as an artist, but she wouldn’t have it any other way; she is as passionate about her family as she is about her paintings.

She added: "Living in a rural location in North Yorkshire enables me to take inspiration from the rich colours, wildlife and space on my doorstep, and I love nothing more than spending time in the wilds with my family. Private commission work has seen me working to full capacity for many years but now that my girls are a bit older I have found I can devote a little more time, and energy, to extending my work, including vibrant, colour rich landscapes that document favourite places and views."

The exhibition will run from February 15 to 26 at The Station, Richmond.
