SUPER swimmers have been rewarded for a bumper year with medals galore.

Northallerton Amateur Swimming Club (NASC) celebrated another successful year at its annual presentation evening recently.

Swimmers aged eight to 18 were awarded medals for their performances in all strokes, from 25 to 200 metres, in what has been another year of impressive results for the club based at Northallerton Leisure centre.

2019 saw the club claim the Hambleton League trophy for the 8th gala in a row and it remains the only club in North Yorkshire to retain its swim mark accreditation for seven years running.

And competition is equally high within the club itself.

This year has seen it produce the highest number of swimmers qualifying for county and regional championships in the club’s history.

Head Coach Greg Ient said: “It’s been another amazing year for NASC.

"At the start of the year we had a lot of our older and more experienced members leave to go into higher education and employment, so the pressure was on our younger members to keep up the rate of progression and improvement.

"I’m happy to say they’ve really delivered.”

Club chairman Sam Davison added: “The club is growing and improving year on year and we really want to keep that momentum up. So, if you enjoy swimming, we want to hear from you."
