A SCHEME which aims to tackle loneliness and depression has opened a new branch in North Yorkshire.
Northallerton Men’s Shed is a community-based workshop where men can come together to enjoy making and mending plus many other pastimes.
The fully equipped woodwork shop can cope with just about any task, no prior skill or knowledge is required.
The main emphasis of sheds is to help combat loneliness, depression and sometimes frustration that many men find after they retire and maybe separate from work colleagues, or who find their abilities reduced after battling illness.
Currently, 25 members and meet Tuesday and Thursday, 10am until 4pm on Allertonshire School site. The launch of the new shed is at 11am on Tuesday, September 24.
