A CHARITY which is fundraising for a new, eco-friendly headquarters has been awarded £5,000 by a foundation which supports good causes.

Just the Job, a social enterprise in Richmond which helps adults with disabilities into work, has been awarded £5,000 by The Pavers Foundation, the employee-led charitable trust created by family-owned shoe retailer, Pavers.

Anna Hamilton, product and creative copywriter at Pavers Head Office in York, applied for the grant to support the Richmond-based charity.

Just the Job is now seeking to raise funds of £500,000 for The Big Green Build, a purpose built facility on the Zetland Estates.

Ms Hamilton said: “I feel really privileged to work for a company that encourages its staff to help causes they feel passionate about. I know this donation of £5,000 will provide invaluable support for the team members of Just the Job for years to come and will enrich the communities in and around Richmond and the Yorkshire Dales. Over the years I have watched Just the Job grow and I’m really excited to see the next chapter in their Big Green Build story."

Steve Biggs, general manager at Just the Job, said: “The Pavers Foundation has made the first substantial donation towards our Big Green Build Project fund. It’s really exciting to envisage a new era for Just the Job, to be able to provide even better facilities and activities for our Team Members and all in one of the greenest buildings around."
