SPONSORSHIP from Yorkshire Air Ambulance is helping a group of young cricketers to ‘take off’ this season.

Richmondshire Under-15s currently sit joint top of the North Yorkshire Area Cricket Council North Division with only one game left to play.

Thanks to kind sponsorship from the Leeds Motor Company and Steve Bainbridge Builders, the youngsters are wearing new match and training tops this season.

In a great gesture, both sponsors said that rather than their names being put on the tops, they would prefer for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance logo to be added.

This also reflects Richmondshire Cricket Club’s recent support of YAA. Last year, the club raised £2,000 for the charity through an auction of promises and recently presented a cheque for a further £200.

Lee York, manager of the Richmondshire Under-15s, said: “Like any local sporting organisations or groups we rely on generous donations like this to enable us to provide cricketing opportunities for juniors. The sponsorship from Leeds Motor Company and Steve Bainbridge Builders is very much appreciated and, along with further support Richmondshire Cricket Club, we were unanimous in our desire to play in practice and matches with tops that sport the logo of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

“The charity does an amazing job helping to save lives across the county, so this is our small way of saying thank you."
