THE second of two extensions have been opened as part of the continuous improvement of a farm-based children’s nursery in Richmondshire.

A new washroom, including two toilets, have been built in the pre-school room at High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton, near Darlington.

Adding this room, which also includes a large storage area, means the older children in the nursery now have their own dedicated washroom and toilets.

It comes just a few weeks after the Ofsted rated outstanding nursery added another new extension, which enables it to hold private meetings with its parents, staff and childcare professionals who visit High Bank.

High Bank manager Hayley Grainger said: “Despite being rated outstanding by our regulator Ofsted, we have always continued to strive for continuous improvement.

“The two new extensions provide an area where we can hold private meetings with our parents and visitors, and now toilets for children in our pre-school."
