CLASSIC car enthusiasts will get the rare opportunity to meet the stars of a popular UKTV show in an event later this month.

Visitors to the annual 'Classics on Show' in Stokesley, will be able to meet stars from the 'Bangers & Cash' TV programme at the event on Saturday, June 15.

The programme, which airs on the Yesterday channel, follows a Thornton-Le-Dale based family who restore old cars to new.

In the show, three generations of the Mathewsons, work together in their efforts to get classic cars back onto the road.

Derek Mathewson and his team will put their valuation expertise into action at the event later this month.

Mr Mathewson said: “We’ve had a phenomenal response with people getting in touch on our social media sites from all over the place and calling in to see us.

“I think the success is down to the fact that this is the only reality show devoted to classic cars –it’s unique.

"I love the Stokesley show, it’s one of the best on the annual circuit and attracts real classics and enthusiasts.

"We look forward to meeting Bangers & Cash fans there."

Around 400 cars are expected to attend the show, which will be held on The Showfield in Stokesley.

In April, organisers confirmed members of the Classic Corvette Club would be attending the show, along with ten prized vehicles.

Amongst the collection, the C7 Corvette, which generates around 455 in engine horsepower, will be on show.

The event runs between 10am and 4pm.

Funds raised will be donated to the Teesside and Herriot hospices, Age UK, Mind and Cancer Research.
