STAFF at a vehicle safety solution firm have beaten a fundraising target of more than £3,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

TVG, based in Catterick Garrison, appealed for raffle prizes from customers and suppliers, and said they were inundated with generous gifts, with around 50 per cent of prizes coming from local businesses.

One of the organisers Paula Underwood, said it was the second year the firm had run the raffle.

She said: "Yorkshire Air Ambulance is the charity we always support as a business. Many of us live in or come from the Dales so we all understand the importance of the service and it relies completely on donations.

"The first year we ran the raffle we had intended it to just be internal but after receiving such generous gifts we sold tickets to the public too and raised £1,466.

"This year we aimed for more than £3,000 and managed to raise £3,491 after receiving 148 prizes.

"Some prizes were cash, others ranged from a football to restaurant vouchers, and they came from our customers and suppliers from all over the world.

"We are so grateful to everyone who bought tickets and donated."

Mrs Underwood, who is a volunteer for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, collecting donation tins from Dales communities, said TVG would be holding a coffee morning on April 4 at Richmond Town Hall, also in support of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
