A TEAM of budding rugby players have proved they have skills at their finger tips after picking up a regional award.
Appleton Wiske Primary School’s tag rugby team have been celebrating after they were crowned regional champions.
The year five and six pupils will now compete in the county finals, which are held at Thirsk School and Sixth Form College.
Tag rugby is a non tackle, minimal contact version of the support which focusses on teams scoring tries from free flowing action which is designed to limit the risk of injury to young players.
And the regional award joy was the latest sporting success after the school’s girls football team finished second in their regional final held at Hambleton Leisure Centre, Northallerton.
