A TRIO of lifeboat men who have racked up almost a century of service between them have been rewarded for their dedication.
Launch operations manager David Porritt, deputy operations manager Sean Baxter and station medical officer Dr Graham Croft were honoured with long service medals at Staithes and Runswick RNLI’s annual Christmas party.
Mr Porritt has racked up and incredible 40-years service to the RNLI, Mr Baxter has 30-years under his belt and Dr Croft has dedicated two decades to saving lives at sea with the Staithes and Runswick crew.
Chairman Neil Anderson paid tribute to the dedication of the trio in what he said had been a record year for the station with 22 call-outs.
He said: “They are three men who have done a wonderful job of running the station’
Mr Anderson also gave a certificate of thanks to crew member and first aider Ashleigh Coney who is stepping down from the crew after 12-years because of work commitments.
