A CLOTHING shop has raised £2,031 in memory of a much-missed team member who died from cancer.
Milners of Leyburn chose Yorkshire Cancer Research as their charity of the year in tribute to Kathleen Nicholson, who died from lung cancer in February at 73.
Kathleen, who worked for Milners for eight years, volunteered for the charity’s Leyburn committee, helping to organise events and collections.
Store director Leonie Garrard, said: “Kath was a stalwart member of the team, as well as the local community. She was the team mum and was always ready with an ear to bend or even better, a hug.”
Regional fundraiser, Adrienne Hodgson, said: “Kath was a dedicated supporter of the charity and we were devastated to learn she had cancer. We’re so pleased the team continue fundraising in her memory.”
