YOUNG footballers are starting the new season with a bright new look after winning financial backing.
The junior players at Thirsk Falcons have received a donation of £977 from Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire to buy new match day kits.
Thirsk Falcons was founded over 30 years ago and is now one of the largest junior football clubs in the area.
It has teams ranging from under-sevens right through to under-18s and offers a “fledglings” team for children aged between three and six-years-old.
The club has FA charter status and every team has an FA qualified coach who oversees player development.
Under-11s manager Paul Booth said: “This is a very generous donation from Taylor Wimpey. The players love their new kits, and I’m sure this will increase their enthusiasm during games.”
He added: “The new football kits have provided my players with a greater sense of professionalism. We are indebted to Taylor Wimpey for sponsoring our club.”
