Two eight-week history courses, which will study the history of blue and white porcelain and the evolution of wind and watermills, are to run in Great Ayton. A Passion for Blue and White will look at the social history of porcelain, from its Chinese origins to its status today. The course, run by the Workers’ Education Association (WEA), will begin on Tuesday afternoon, January 28 at the Friends’ Meeting House. A WEA course on Mills and Milling will run at the same venue on Thursdays evenings from January 30. Both courses cost £48.
