A self-taught artist who exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art in London at the age of 15 is currently showing at a North Yorkshire museum. Rob Parkin, from Here Today – Gone Tomorrow will be showing at Ryedale Folk Museum in Hutton-le-Hole until September 15. The exhibition focuses on how previous generations lived and worked with nature and the landscape. The artist will also be holding painting workshops at the museum during the duration of the exhibition.

CABARET NIGHT: A cabaret night in aid of the Anthony Nolan charity is due to be held in Northallerton on Saturday, August 17 at The Troubadour. There will be a number of acts from blues band Lounge Lizards to magician Martin Waring. The charity matches potential bone marrow donors to blood cancer patients.
